JOB ADVERT SAFETY OFFICER
Kiboko Projects is an exciting company that brings a fresh approach Mining Industry, specialising in rental equipment. The corporate office in Centurion and Mining Operations in Limpopo and Mpumalanga, Kiboko Projects is providing an exciting permanent employment opportunity for Safety Officer. The incumbent will be based at our client site in Delmas, Mpumalanga.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
- To implement and embed company health and safety policies and procedures at the company project site.
- Supports Line Functions and Management in ensuring a safe workplace is maintained in compliance with legislative requirements and company standards.
- To ensure that all work performed on the plant is done safely through the use of the Permit to Work System.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS National Diploma in Safety Management or OHSA-related Certificate Project Chamber of Mines Safety Officer Certificate (COMSOC I & II) or SAMTRAC Risk Management Qualification is essential; Experience in OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 Implementation and Auditing Advanced Computer Skills (MS packages – MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) | WORK EXPERIENCE A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Mining or similar industry environmentAt least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity |
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS | |
Project Management Certificate an advantage Valid Driver’s Licence |
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect Working Places or Machinery at Pre-determined Intervals
- Ensure Unsafe Conditions are Immediately Addressed by the Person in Charge
- Ensure End-Of-Shift (EOS) Written Record of all Inspected Workplaces Health and Safety Status
- Ensure Investigation and Reporting of Incidents, Accidents, Dangerous Occurrences within Set deadlines
- Conduct HSEC Management System reviews
- Plan and facilitate HSEC Management System reviews
- Conduct issue-based risk assessments and take appropriate action
- Maintain health, safety, and housekeeping within the internal environment
- Conduct investigations into workplace incidents
- Report any unsafe behavior, conditions, and incident
